Worship is central to our life as a congregation. We grow spiritually through Bible-based sermons and lessons that apply to everyday situations. We use music and interactive worship to praise God and open our hearts to God’s presence in our lives.
WHAT TO EXPECT
What are services like?
Worship begins at 11:00 and is relaxed, child friendly, caring, and inspiring. Our music centers around the organ, piano, our senior choir, people sharing special music, and our hymnal. You will have opportunities to sing, pray, laugh, sit in God’s presence, and reflect on our relationship with God, one another, and the rest of God’s creation.
Attire at Memorial Presbyterian Church of Wenonah (WMPC) ranges from business suits to jeans, t-shirts and even shorts. Our focus is not on what we wear, but on connecting with God and building a community of faith.
Nursery – Most parents have wanted to stay with their infants and toddlers, so we have created a play space in the room adjacent to the sanctuary. There are 2 rocking chairs, a table with child sized chairs, books, and toys to keep the children busy. A speaker in the room allows you to hear the service. A changing table is through the door next to the play space.
Children’s Church – Children join us in worship for the first 15 minutes. This helps acclimate our young ones to worship. After a children’s sermon, children interested in an activity time are led by the adults to the activity room. Children’s activity time is for children who are potty trained until 3rd grade. Children are also welcome to stay for the entire worship service.
SPECIAL SUNDAY FOCUS
1st Sunday of the Month: Communion (except in February when communion occurs on the 2nd Sunday.)
2nd Sunday of the Month: Family Sunday is a worship service that lasts about 45-50 minutes and aims to capture the attention of children of all ages. This service is more interactive and includes bulletin inserts to help continue the discussion of worship and faith after the service.
4th Sunday of the Month: During worship we will share with the congregation the valued ministries and missions of the church.
